Our Storage World stores in Middleton, Manchester Central, and Hale & Wilmslow are insured at a property level. As we can’t anticipate the exact contents (and value) in a customer’s storage unit, we encourage our valued tenants to take out extra insurance.
In an effort to make the process easy and convenient, we provide a separate content insurance policy that we match to each customer’s value of goods.
In order to take out insurance on goods, customers need to provide an outline inventory of items. A policy is then put in place, underwritten by the Royal & SunAlliance. The policy protects the items with the replacement value of the belongings.

Extra aspects of security
At Storage World, the safety and security of your belongings is a top priority. That’s why we have installed security measures to give customers peace of mind and confidence in our services.
For example, we ensure that all storage units are clean, dry and secure. Our stores have been specifically developed for long term storage and are inspected in accordance with the Self Storage Association Guidelines. Store standards are reviewed twice daily and any items prone to mess or disruption are prohibited.
Additional security features include individual padlocks that provide sole access to the customer. Units are monitored with 24-hour CCTV footage.
