Sadly we did not take home the gold medal on this occasion however we are very proud of the achievement of our third store and all those that have helped to make it a huge success. A massive thank you must go to the Storage World team who have done an amazing job to get the store to where it is today especially whilst also navigating through the pandemic.
The winner was announced on 21/09/2021 at the Federation of European Self Storage Associations (FEDESSA) Awards, held in Birmingham. Squab Self Storage in Evesham won the number one prize and we would like to congratulate them on a great achievement.
We were judged on a number of different aspects, below are a few of the standout features that have made the store a success:

- Dedication and commitment has delivered a staggering occupancy uptake. 1,500 sq ft per month net month on month increase consistently for 18 months.
Store Appearance
- We put a lot of emphasis on making the store look awesome internally and externally
- Prominent roadside signage
- Modern looking reception
- The loading bay is a stylishly constructed atrium showcasing units
Security
- Individual customer units
- Contactless access control via a fob individual fob system
- CCTV
- Monitored intruder and fire alarms
Marketing
- Strong online presence backed up by 100 + positive reviews
- Highly targeted SEO, online content, advertising and social campaigns.
- Various offline tactics including signage, leaflet drops, local sponsorship, and networking.
Community
- The store has been able to assist local charities & causes by providing them with space or support.
- We have provided units to the Council. They used the space to secure possessions of vulnerable people during the pandemic.
- The Store Operations and Customer Service Manager, Dave James is running the 2021 London Marathon for children with cancer. He plans to run in costume (as an OXO cube) and incorporate Storage World branding as part of his outfit.
