Self storage provides simple, cheap and convenient solutions to a huge variety of storage related problems. Whether you’re a student looking to avoid hefty rent bills over the summer break, a traveller needing a place to keep your valuables while you’re away or a business in need of additional storage space, renting a self storage unit is a fast easy process that will leave you wondering why you waited so long in the first place.
If you’re considering using self storage, but haven’t used it in the past, read on to discover just how easy it is to rent your own storage unit with Storage World. We’ll even throw in some top tips on how to make the process as quick and straightforward as possible.
Why use a self storage unit?
In our line of work, we are fortunate enough to meet people of all different backgrounds with all kinds of storage needs, but every so often we encounter someone that asks ‘why use storage when keeping my things in a friend’s shed or my spare bedroom is free?’
There are plenty of reasons to utilise storage, with the most obvious being your friends may need that space back for themselves and wouldn’t you rather use your spare room for something useful instead of as an unorganised tipping ground? (Just take a look at our blog for alternative spare room ideas to see how you could be using that space!) But more seriously, those kinds of storage spaces may be free, but more often than not, they aren’t safe.
An outdoor shed, for example, is left at the mercy of the elements and, should it be damaged by rain or wind, the possessions you’ve deemed important enough to store there could end up needing to be replaced. Because of the risks involved in this type of storage, you are likely to end up spending more than you saved by not using a self storage unit in the first instance.
At Storage World, our units are all internally housed, meaning they are protected from everything the weather can throw at them, and our 24/7 security system will ensure your stored items remain safe and secure for as long as you keep them with us. So, to those people that ask us ‘why bother using self storage?’ it never takes long to answer.
How much does self storage cost?
Before you get going on renting your own self storage unit, you might be wondering exactly how much this is going to cost you. For that, we don’t blame you, and we’re happy to surprise you with just how cheap it can be!
The price of self storage at Storage World varies depending on what type of storage you want and what size unit you need. If you aren’t sure of these things, we are happy to help you find the best value option for your storage needs. If all you need to store is a spare guitar, for example, we’ll point you in the direction of our small lockers which start at just £10 per week. Similarly, if you’re clearing out a bedroom or two in order to decorate, we’d recommend our garage sized units which start from around £25 – £40 per week.
We want the absolute best value for our customers, so if you’re struggling to decide just how big or small a unit you’ll need, our friendly, experienced staff are on hand to help out.
What contract lengths are available?
At Storage World, we pride ourselves on being able to offer all of our customers fully flexible contracts so, if your circumstances change and you need to upsize or downsize at a moment’s notice, we can accommodate you. Our contracts also start from as little as two weeks so, if you aren’t sure how long you’ll need the space for or require very short term storage, then there’s no cause for concern. If you can’t provide a move-out date at the commencement of your contract with us, all we require is two weeks notice to terminate your contract.
