Fishing at Bickershaw Lake’s Fan Lodge 

After a 40-minute drive, you’ll arrive at Fan Lodge waterways, located off Bickershaw Lane. The lake is a playground for experienced anglers and amatuer fishermen alike. With the correct bait and fishing equipment, you stand a chance to catch carp, bream, tench, roach and more. 

Cycling around Handforth 

If you want to get your heart rate racing, pump up your bicycle tyres and fasten your helmet. There are several cycling routes around Handforth, including the easy 20 kilometre bike loop from Handforth which offers great fun for cyclists of all fitness levels.  

Picnic at Newgate Nature Reserve 

Newgate Nature Reserve offers a range of enjoyable, outdoor activities to enjoy with the whole family, including walking, wildlife watching and indulging in a picnic under the trees. The nature reserve is a former industrial land that has returned to its natural state, with plenty of trails and walkways to explore once your belly is full.
