Manchester Giants have teamed up with new partners Storage World.com to launch a Christmas charity toy drive.
The professional basketball club, who play at the Powerleague Trafford Sportsdome, are urging fans to take donations to home games – or to the Storage World.com Self-Storage facility in Ardwick.
The collected gifts will be handed over to the Key 103 Mission Christmas Cash For Kids charity in time for the festive season.
Storage World have signed a sponsorship agreement with the Giants.
Marc Studholme, the Manchester company’s managing director, said: “We’re delighted to have teamed up with the Giants – and to have the opportunity to bring some joy to youngsters who need it at Christmas time.
“We are looking forward to a great relationship with the club as they strive to become the biggest and best in the British Basketball League.
“But our immediate aim is to collect as many toys as possible – and that’s where the Giants fans and the Manchester public come in.”
Giants chief executive John Dwan said: “We are really pleased that Storage World are backing the club and we are excited about rising to the challenge of collecting as many toys as possible for Christmas.”
The Giants will be collecting toys at their home matches against Plymouth on Saturday, November 8, against Cheshire Phoenix on Sunday, November 23 and London Lions on Sunday, December 7. All games start at 6pm at the Powerleague Trafford Sportsdome, which is next to the Chill Factore by the Trafford Centre.
Toys can also be donated at Storage World, just half a mile from Piccadilly, at 40-46 Ashton Old Rd, Ardwick, Manchester M12 6LP until December 13. Phone: 0161 274 4777
