How we use your information

This privacy notice tells you what to expect when we (Storage World) collects personal information. It applies to information we collect about:

Visitors to our websites

When someone visits www.storageworld.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be upfront about this. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.

E-newsletter

We may use a third-party provider, to deliver our e-newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter.

Contact form

We use a contact form which collects personal information required to respond effectively to a user’s enquiry. The details collected are stored in our secure WordPress CMS and deleted once no longer needed.

Call recording

Our calls are recorded (unless requested not to do so), this is a standard practice to facilitate quality monitoring, training, compliance, and security reasons. Recordings are paused when payments are taken over the phone.

How we protect your information

Storage World utilise both technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal data and to comply with the data protection laws.

Access to personal information

Storage World try to be as open as we can be in terms of giving people access to their personal information. Individuals can find out if we hold any personal information by making a ‘subject access request’ under the Data Protection Act 1998. If we do hold information about you we will:

  • give you a description of it;
  • tell you why we are holding it;
  • tell you who it could be disclosed to; and
  • let you have a copy of the information in an intelligible form

To make a request to Storage World for any personal information we may hold you need to put the request in writing addressed to Storage World, 40-46 Ashton Old Road, Manchester, M12 6LP.

If you agree, we will try to deal with your request informally, for example by providing you with the specific information you need over the telephone. If we do hold information about you, you can ask us to correct any mistakes.

Sharing of personal information

Information we hold is confidential, except where disclosure is required or permitted by law. Our policy is to fully cooperate with relevant law enforcement agencies and government bodies upon provision of relevant/suitable ID and formwork.

Storage World also use various external companies who provide services relevant to general day to day running of the business along with companies who manage our website and other associated platforms. External companies are only able to process your information in line with Storage Worlds instructions.

CCTV

All our facilities are covered by CCTV both internally and externally. Footage is held in a secure loactaion and only called upon in the event of an incident. Footage would only be supplied to relevant bodies/authorities in the event of an incident upon their request.

Emails relating to transactions are not considered marketing and cannot be suppressed as the content confirms the legal contract of sale.
