I want to make it quite clear from the start that I did not forget to buy my wife any presents. The fact I was desperately driving around town late on Christmas Eve looking for a service station is merely coincidental. Further to aid my defence, I’d like to point out that I had a large hand (and pocket) in our children purchasing mum’s presents.
Heading across the forecourt back to the car after another unsuccessful foray, I was quite surprised to see a sleigh parked by one of the pumps. Several reindeer appeared to be munching hay from some sand buckets.
“Ho!” said a voice in my ear. When I returned to ground level I discovered I was standing next to a weird old guy with a red coat and a huge white beard. Okay, I was standing next to Santa. “You are in so much trouble,” he said with a chuckle. Then he snapped his fingers.
The service station had magically turned into a storage unit. All around the walls were a glorious collection of wife or mother friendly gifts. “Are we at the North Pole” I asked in wonder. “No you fool,” he replied cheerfully, “we’re in a large yellow building in Manchester”.
Apparently his own workshop was becoming a bit over-stuffed with gifts so he approached Storage World for help. They provided the solution: “I can change the space as often as I need to depending on how much I have to store and I know it’s always safe and secure”.
Well, apparently I’d been mostly a “good boy” this year so I was allowed to select a couple of items for my wife. Who would have thought Santa takes credit cards?
Of course, when I woke up on Christmas morning, I knew it had all been just a dream. Mind you, I do use Storage World to store all my excess business stuff!
